Watching over-the-air or DVD player using Streambar SE
Shouldn’t the streambar se function as a soundbar, so i can use it for sound while watching over the air tv or watching a dvd, when the streambar is plugged into the hdmi arc port, and the tv optical out is also connected to the streambar?Solved182Views0likes9CommentsHow to connect Roku TV to Old A/V Receiver
Hello Everyone: I have a Roku smart TV that has HDMI/Arc. I would like to play audio from the TV through my older Harman/Kardon AVR70 receiver, which has component (audio in) connections. What hardware would I need to convert the HDMI audio signal to one I can use with my component receiver? What would be the steps I would need to take in software settings on the TV to make it work? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.Solved92Views1like1CommentUsing Roku speakers for home audio
I love my Roku Streambar. The sound is great. My TV and Streambar are in my living room. I'm planning to upgrade my home audio setup in the adjacent room, the family room. Is there a way I could use Roku speakers as my home audio solution in the family room? To do this I see two options that could work for me: Ideal - If the Streambar is "on" the TV audio will play through the Streambar and I can play a separate audio source through the Roku speakers. If the Streambar is off, I can play music through the Roku speakers but it does not come through the Streambar. Acceptable - I can only ever listen to one audio source (TV audio or external audio source) but I can configure which speakers it plays through. For example, if I'm watching TV I want the audio to come through the Streambar only. If I am listening to music I want to be able to choose between three configurations - a) play through Streambar only, b) play through Roku speaker sonly, or c) play through Streambar and Roku speakers. I understand option 1 might not be possible (dual audio streams), but it seems option 2 should be possible given it's just a single audio stream and a simple set of configurations could be programmed, e.g. "TV watching" (a), "Family room music" (b), "Whole house party music" (c). I'd even be willing to replace my Streambar with a Roku TV if this were more readily possible through Roku TV than Streambar.40Views1like3CommentsStreambar SE SHOULD HAVE a Sleep Timer
Why — after going out of my way to continue the ROKU OS experience, why would a ROKU device with CEC/ARC and one meant to completely take over my TV, not perform one of the most basic tasks handled by every such device, including my now ancient TCL Roku tvs? It is infuriating and makes me feel foolish both for choosing the Streambar and for being so confident in the ROKU OS system. Thats all. Just needed to vent. Thanks. (Tho it seems like a feature VERY easily provided via firmware update. The lack of a sleep timer is 100% a policy fail, not an engineering problem.) Streambars SHOULD HAVE a Sleep Timer. Full stop.19Views0likes0Comments
