How do I fix my TCL Roku tv Black screen/ dim light
My daughter was watching tv and all of a sudden the screen went black, we can still hear everything but the screen was black . I’ve only had this tv for 6 months so I’m confused as to what is going on. I’ve tried holding the power button on the both the remote and the tv to reset, I’ve unplugged it , I’ve used the reset button on the back of the tv, I’ve changed the picture mode using the dictation to movie, I’ve factory reset it and nothing seems to work. When I turn on the tv you can see the red screen for just a split second before it goes dark. You can tell the tv is a low dim cause at a certain angle you can see the words on the screen very faintly . what should I do42KViews4likes16CommentsRoku Soundbar freezing screen, other issues - unable to reach support
Roku soundbar purchased in late November. After using successfully for about two weeks, I started having several different issues with the soundbar - which I am also using to stream in addition to sound. The soundbar will often distort the screen and there is nothing to do but unplug for many hours and then try again. I also perform a system restart daily to try to avoid but it only works for a day or two. In addition, it will freeze the screen a lot during watching. When I switch to my Roku TV to stream I do not have this freezing issue. My wifi performs well, it isn't the issue. I've tried many different HDMI cables so that isn't the issue either. I also had the roku wireless speakers but they drop the connection so much I've decided to scrap them. I have tried to contact support directly but the submission form doesn't actually allow submission. Anyone else had any success with the soundbar while also using it to stream?6.5KViews1like13CommentsRoku TV keeps disconnecting from wifi when i turn it off and back on
SO... This jusr barely started happening last week. So ill explain, i have a HiSense Roku TV 40" and when i turn my tv off. leave somewhere and come back i turn it on and its not connected to the wifi i have to restart my tv from settings or i usually clear the CACHE by pressing "Home" 5x Then Up button 1x Then Rewind 2 x then Fast Forward button 2x and it works but then i turn my tv off and leave then come back and i have to do the process over again. i have restarted my wifi router as well. and it didnt change this. I also updated my roku tv a few weeks ago, not sure if that is a bug that roku hasn't fixed but just wanted to throw that in there as well. And will having a MONSTER LED light Bar interfere with my connection? cause my roku remote changes the light colors on my monster light bars. lol i just wanted to add that just in case its the light bars that are interfering with the connection. if anyone has any suggestions please let me know THANKS.4.7KViews1like1CommentMy Model H801X is not recognized. How do I download a manual update?
I went to tvupdate.roku.com to manually download an update but it does not recognize the model number my TV displays in settings, which is H801X. It is asking for 4 numbers and one letter. Nothing in that pattern is available to me on this device. It's a 32-inch Onn model 100012589 that is not displayed on Roku's website but is available at Walmart still. After a week this TV is no longer connecting to the internet. We primarily screen mirror our devices to it, we don't really use it for TV. After attempting all the basic steps, power cycle, reconnect to the network, reset button on the back, full system reset... nothing is working. I tried to research both the Roku Model Number as well as the Onn Model Number in hopes that I would find a model number I could use for this TV but no luck. I read here in the community that Walmart models typically have "RW" at the end, but this one doesn't. I assume because Onn is Walmart's brand and there's no need to identify it? I'm at a loss. Any help is appreciated!Solved4.1KViews0likes3CommentsRoku Streambar sound cutting out while using HDMI
Hello, I, like many others here, am incredibly frustrated with the constant audio cutouts (randomly, at least 2-3 times per hour, sometimes 2-3 times every 5 min) while using HDMI sources connected to the TV. This issue is beyond annoying — it's a total "show stopper". (no audio cutout observed when using roku OS, although not using it a lot). I've gone through all the usual "troubleshooting" steps: swapping HDMI cables, power cycling the Streambar, etc., yet the problem still persists. When I use another soundbar from a different brand with the same TV and cables, it works perfectly — no issues, for years. What is even more frustrating is reading this issue has been ongoing for years with no real solution. Roku’s typical response of "we will contact you separately" is just lip service — it does little for the community at large, the expected purpose of this site. If this doesn’t get fixed very soon, I’ll be returning this product while I’m still within the return window. It's a shame because when it does work, the bar offers great value, but this constant audio dropout is unacceptable. I recently decided to buy a Roku TV and for the brand I decided to go with TCL, probably worst decision I made... I purchased it at my local Walmart and got home and set it up right away and went through the setup process and connected it to my Wireless Network, which the whole process didn't have any issues. I also connected two devices to it and nothing was wrong. I finished the day by watching youtube on it and worked as intended, though I fell asleep and it auto shut off(or went to sleep as it's power saver mode). Next day it also worked well and the wifi was fine, I also used the two devices connected to it to make sure everything was set up right(color/picture size and all). At the end of the day I also watched youtube but did not fall asleep with it on. Third day comes around and I was about to get on youtube but it said I wasn't connected to wifi and so I checked as well as trying to connect to my WIFI and it couldn't find my network, scanning again didn'tt do anything for me. I gave up trying to fix it and hoped that it was the update or something in the software went wrong so a new update was gonna come out to fix it. I was naive to think that since the last update is said to have been in September. Today I was gonna AirPlay my phone onto the screen but then I realized it requires the TV to be connected to the wifi and then I tried again to get it fixed. I tried to put my router's login info into the private network(just trying all options, but did nothing). So I finally gave up and decided to make this post. The tv is quite literally 6 feet from my router with nothing in the way to block connection(such as other technology for signal jamming) so I don't know what could truly be the problem except hardware issues. Don't fully know what Information I should put here to get some actual help rather than random posts and articles that don't help me so I will put all my system info here(except the Uptime and Support since they aren't relevant). "The ROKU Channel" app was working perfectly fine on my Samsung TV. However, as of the update pushed out with a build date of "01/09/23, 22:48:24", my shows have become completely unwatchable. The issue occours when ads play. The issue isn't them playing, it's when they're over and the show is supposed to resume. All that happens is the last ad freezes at the end and nothing further happens. While I am able to go back and select to "resume", this generally results in my show starting back from the beginning every single time, thereby making it completely unwatchable. After the update on 3/18/23 I haven’t been able to use my YouTube app on my Roku TV at all. I’ve been on support chat multiple times to fix the issue, but I keep getting the “no memory available” message even though the YouTube app has been my only app for about 5 years now - I don’t use the tv for anything else. I was told to factory reset and now I can’t even redownload the app, which for me means my tv is now unusable. Does anyone know if it’s possible to uninstall the update? I’ve tried all the online suggestions and nothing is working.3.5KViews0likes5CommentsAdvertising and Roku website problems
First, I'm constantly getting Medicare, Medicare life insurance, Burial insurance, aarp, All things senior associated with in commercials. That's it. ALL old people stuff I can handle commercials but holy moly give me something I can use unless you know something I don't Second, there are several issues with the website that don't work and when I tried to email them about it, that didn't work either.3.5KViews1like9CommentsTCL Roku TV has a small marking on the top right corner of screen suddenly.
It’s been like this for two days, from a distance it doesn’t appear, but when I’m close enough, like near my desk. It’s super noticeable when I watch a tv show, or when I play my games. Veryyyy aggravating. I've only had this tv for two months now. It was meant to replace my older TV that I had for nearly two decades, and to see my screen like this kinda makes me wish I didn't get rid of my old TV.Solved3KViews0likes2Comments
