Using Roku Soundbar as Bluetooth speaker for Amazon Echo Dot
I attempted to pair my Echo Dot and Roku soundbar via Bluetooth for playback of Amazon music, but neither the Roku or Echo Dot find each other when scanning for available devices. I have the soundbar linked to the Echo for voice activated commands with the TV on, but I'm looking to use it as a simple Bluetooth speaker for music when the TV is off. Currently I play music from the Echo through a small Sony portable Bluetooth speaker. I want the soundbar to replace the Sony for more room filling sound. Does the soundbar not support basic Bluetooth connection with the Echo?16KViews0likes5CommentsCan I use Streambar with TV Without ARC or S/PDIF
My father is hard of hearing and his TV's speakers are rear-firing so he always has to increase the volume in order to hear anything. I want to get him a soundbar but his TV is so old that it doesn't have either ARC or S/PDIF, nor is it a smart TV. It does, however, have an orange RCA jack labeled "Digital Audio Out" (coaxial), along with traditional red and white. Will the streambar work with his TV, and if so, which type of cable and/or extra hardware would he need?Solved10KViews0likes13CommentsHDCP Error with Roku Soundbar
Within the second day of installing the Roku soundbar we started getting the HDCP Error message. I followed the instructions to properly install the soundbar. I used all the cables that came with the soundbar. I followed the steps to fix the issue, but only seems to be a temporary fix, because the error message will return a few days later. I just recently changed the HDMI cable to one that I previously had. Seemed to be working fine and then the error message came up again. This never happened with any of our previous Roku devices, which were Roku Premier devices. Is anybody experiencing this issue with their Soundbar. I am on the verge of returning it. Roku soundbar purchased in late November. After using successfully for about two weeks, I started having several different issues with the soundbar - which I am also using to stream in addition to sound. The soundbar will often distort the screen and there is nothing to do but unplug for many hours and then try again. I also perform a system restart daily to try to avoid but it only works for a day or two. In addition, it will freeze the screen a lot during watching. When I switch to my Roku TV to stream I do not have this freezing issue. My wifi performs well, it isn't the issue. I've tried many different HDMI cables so that isn't the issue either. I also had the roku wireless speakers but they drop the connection so much I've decided to scrap them. I have tried to contact support directly but the submission form doesn't actually allow submission. Anyone else had any success with the soundbar while also using it to stream?6.5KViews1like13CommentsSubwoofer won't pair with Soundbar after years of working correctly
I noticed a blinking light on the back of my subwoofer in a dark room. Tried to re-pair. It finds it and gets stuck on the "updating subwoofer" and eventually errors out. This setup is an older soundbar. It has been paired for over a year with this subwoofer. Subwoofer not the issue because I tried pairing it with another Roku beta device and it paired with no issues. I've reset both devices and tried over and over, same result. The soundbar showed it was last updated on Nov 1st and that may have been when the issue started. Hello, I, like many others here, am incredibly frustrated with the constant audio cutouts (randomly, at least 2-3 times per hour, sometimes 2-3 times every 5 min) while using HDMI sources connected to the TV. This issue is beyond annoying — it's a total "show stopper". (no audio cutout observed when using roku OS, although not using it a lot). I've gone through all the usual "troubleshooting" steps: swapping HDMI cables, power cycling the Streambar, etc., yet the problem still persists. When I use another soundbar from a different brand with the same TV and cables, it works perfectly — no issues, for years. What is even more frustrating is reading this issue has been ongoing for years with no real solution. Roku’s typical response of "we will contact you separately" is just lip service — it does little for the community at large, the expected purpose of this site. If this doesn’t get fixed very soon, I’ll be returning this product while I’m still within the return window. It's a shame because when it does work, the bar offers great value, but this constant audio dropout is unacceptable. Came home to a solid orange light on the front. Unplugged it and plugged it back in, and it just goes back to solid orange. If I hold the reset button for 10 seconds, it will goto a white and then green light, but it eventually just goes back to orange and will reboot every ~3 minutes. I own 3 of these, and the other two are working fine.2.2KViews0likes6CommentsRoku Smart Soundbar & wireless speakers/sub connectivity problem
I have a Streambar Pro (9101x), 2 Roku wireless speakers in front, 2 ONN wireless speakers in back and a Roku wireless subwoofer. It's been working great for some time (years) till recently. Currently running 14.1. I'm not sure when this started exactly, but I noticed last night that none of the wireless speakers were working. I verified power on everything, attempted to reconnect and even though the speakers play the pre-recorded message fine, they never reconnect. I dropped all the speakers in the setup app, attempted to reconnect, nothing. I did a factory reset on the sound bar and attempted to reconnect, still nothing. Anyone have any idea what happened? Or suggestions as to what I try next?Solved1.7KViews0likes9CommentsStreambar SE failure due to loose optical cable
My Roku 4 device stopped supporting Hulu and eventually the new version of Sling. I could no longer stream these services on my main living room TV although still could with my older Roku devices on my other TVs. After unsuccessfully trouble shooting with Roku and Sling I finally figured Roku wants me to purchase a new player and purchased the Streambar SE. This was successfully installed (needed to use the optical cable as my TV does not have HDMI arc). At this time the Optical Cable has pulled out of the Streambar - it does not click in to the StreamBar fully. No amount of troubleshooting fixes this problem and now I am out and in worse shape than ever (no sound can't stream anything). And now I can't for the life of me find a live agent to discuss. Thoughts? Buy a new cable from a 3rd party? Switch to a different brand streaming device? IDK it shouldn't be this hard to "save money" by streaming.Solved1.6KViews1like5Comments
