Youtube app audio is skipping and choppy with Private Listening
I use the Roku remote app’s private listening feature to connect my headphones to my roku tv through bluetooth. Recently, the Youtube app audio will not play correctly when I am listening through my headphones. It makes it sound chopped up and sporadic. Here is what I’ve already done to try to fix this: • I turned off and on the private listening feature from my app • I closed the roku app completely and reopened it • I disconnected my headphones’ bluetooth to my phone • I turned the power off on my headphones and then back on and reconnected • I restarted my tv • I checked to see if my tv needed a software update. It is up to date • I tested the audio of different apps through my headphones. They all work perfectly. So far it is only the Youtube app that has this issue. • I checked to see if the Youtube app needed updating. It is the current version. • I uninstalled the Youtube app from my tv and reinstalled it. No change. • I played the youtube app audio through my tv instead of my headphones through private listening and it sounds fine. At first I assumed this was an issue with my headphones but they play everything except the Youtube app perfectly normally.12KViews23likes84CommentsParamount Plus audio and video is out of sync on my Roku device
CBS Live on Paramount Plus has audio/video sync issues. The longer you watch the worse it becomes. Only happens on CBS Live. Have unplugged the ROKU power supply and the router power supply. No help. Hope someone has a solution. No other app is affected; Netflix, Amazon, Sling, IMDB. Contacted customer support. Found out what most all have found out. They are useless. Say they will contact you via email. Has not happened.Solved35KViews14likes89CommentsRoku Streambar sound cutting out while using HDMI
Hello, I, like many others here, am incredibly frustrated with the constant audio cutouts (randomly, at least 2-3 times per hour, sometimes 2-3 times every 5 min) while using HDMI sources connected to the TV. This issue is beyond annoying — it's a total "show stopper". (no audio cutout observed when using roku OS, although not using it a lot). I've gone through all the usual "troubleshooting" steps: swapping HDMI cables, power cycling the Streambar, etc., yet the problem still persists. When I use another soundbar from a different brand with the same TV and cables, it works perfectly — no issues, for years. What is even more frustrating is reading this issue has been ongoing for years with no real solution. Roku’s typical response of "we will contact you separately" is just lip service — it does little for the community at large, the expected purpose of this site. If this doesn’t get fixed very soon, I’ll be returning this product while I’m still within the return window. It's a shame because when it does work, the bar offers great value, but this constant audio dropout is unacceptable. My Roku 4 device stopped supporting Hulu and eventually the new version of Sling. I could no longer stream these services on my main living room TV although still could with my older Roku devices on my other TVs. After unsuccessfully trouble shooting with Roku and Sling I finally figured Roku wants me to purchase a new player and purchased the Streambar SE. This was successfully installed (needed to use the optical cable as my TV does not have HDMI arc). At this time the Optical Cable has pulled out of the Streambar - it does not click in to the StreamBar fully. No amount of troubleshooting fixes this problem and now I am out and in worse shape than ever (no sound can't stream anything). And now I can't for the life of me find a live agent to discuss. Thoughts? Buy a new cable from a 3rd party? Switch to a different brand streaming device? IDK it shouldn't be this hard to "save money" by streaming.Solved1.6KViews1like5CommentsRoku for playing favorite shows in Spanish
this morning i turned on one of my favorite channels (military heroes) to watch "ancient top 10" and i was appalled to hear the program was in spanish, not ENGLISH! i can speak spanish but when i am watching one of my favorite shows i EXPECT it to be in english and not spanish. this is america and we speak english here, not spanish. if i go to germany, i expect their t.v. programs to be in german. if i go to mexico, i expect to watch shows in spanish. in america, i expect my shows to be in english! if i have to continue watching my favorite shows in spanish then i will get rid of my roku t.v., cancel my account and get another television. i am really irritated at roku for doing that. please play your content in english!1.2KViews1like4CommentsNo audio
My Roku will not let me listen to videos anymore. Before someone replies with the generic "unplug it" answer this is what I have done to fix the problem. 1.) Unplugged the device for 5 minutes. 2.) Plugged the device in to the second HDMI slot on the TV 3.) Plugged the device in with a new HDMI cord 4.) Plugged the device in with the AV cables 5.) Tested my TV audio and both my Wii and DVD player both have audio with no issues 6.) Make sure the TV is not on mute 7.) Follow the steps from previous posts about changing the audio on the Roku All of this did nothing. The audio worked fine last night. Turned off the TV like normal and went to bed. Today nothing has changed and the audio isn't working. Tried calling customer support and they are closed due to the situation. I was redirected to their website to email them and kept being redirected to the community page to post.4.4KViews1like5CommentsRoku Soundbar freezing screen, other issues - unable to reach support
Roku soundbar purchased in late November. After using successfully for about two weeks, I started having several different issues with the soundbar - which I am also using to stream in addition to sound. The soundbar will often distort the screen and there is nothing to do but unplug for many hours and then try again. I also perform a system restart daily to try to avoid but it only works for a day or two. In addition, it will freeze the screen a lot during watching. When I switch to my Roku TV to stream I do not have this freezing issue. My wifi performs well, it isn't the issue. I've tried many different HDMI cables so that isn't the issue either. I also had the roku wireless speakers but they drop the connection so much I've decided to scrap them. I have tried to contact support directly but the submission form doesn't actually allow submission. Anyone else had any success with the soundbar while also using it to stream?6.5KViews1like13Comments
