Roku please add a Shuffle and Repeat buttons for your next remote for music apps such as Spotify
Id really appreciate if there were repeat and shuffle buttons on the next model remote for Roku Ultra. This would allow me to change the shuffle or repeat š š state just by pressing remote buttons. Maybe put a white light above the buttons showing what state of repeat is currently used. And to see wether Shuffle is currently ON or OFF just by looking at a white light above the remote button. Spotify has repeat for current playlist/album or repeat current song. Or Shuffle. The Live button and streaming service buttons are useless to me and just ads. I never use those and they add unnecessary clutter to the remote. Roku, please instead add usual functionality buttons to the remote such as repeat, shuffle. Remove the Live and Streaming services buttons which are basically ads, because the Streaming services such as Netflix, Disney+ paid you to have a permanent place on the remote.511Views1like7CommentsSuggestion for USB-C Audio Integration on ROKU Voice Remote Pro (Second Edition)
I would like to propose that ROKU consider integrating support for private listening via the USB-C charging port on the Voice Remote Pro (Second Edition), as well as future generations of the ROKU Remote(s). By enabling functionality for USB-C headphones or a USB-C to 3.5mm headphone adapter (similar to what many modern smartphones offer), ROKU could provide an alternative to the previously included headphone jack. This feature would: 1. **Restore Private Listening for Wired Headphone Users**: Many users prefer the simplicity of wired headphones for uninterrupted audio, coupling convenience with reliability. 2. **Maximize Device Utility**: Utilizing the USB-C port for more than just charging increases the value of the product, giving users more reasons to choose ROKU's Voice Remote Pro over competitors' solutions. 3. **Reduce Environmental Impact**: Some users might already own USB-C headphones or adapters from other devices, eliminating the need to purchase additional accessories or rely solely on wireless headphones. 4. **Appeal to a Broader User Base**: While ROKUās wireless private listening through the mobile app and Bluetooth works well, this addition would also cater to users who prefer the simplicity and audio quality of a wired solution/dislike using the app. ### Implementation Consideration To implement this suggestion, ROKU could: - Enable USB-C audio output through firmware updates. - Sell or partner with third-party accessory makers to provide ROKU-branded USB-C to 3.5mm headphone adapters for users who wish to use their existing wired headphones, as well as ROKU branded wired headphones. - Clearly communicate in product specifications and marketing materials that the Voice Remote Pro supports USB-C audio functionality. ### Why This Matters Private listening is one of the standout features that makes ROKU's remotes and streaming experience unique. Many users still appreciate and rely on this functionality for use cases like watching late-night TV without disturbing others. Bringing back a wired option via USB-C would show ROKUās commitment to listening to its user base and enhancing accessibility for all. ### Closing Thoughts Thank you for the time and effort your team puts into continuously improving ROKUās devices and user experience. I personally believe that this suggestion could rekindle the enthusiasm of users who miss the headphone jack while also modernizing the remote to align with the growing trend of USB-C audio solutions.223Views0likes1CommentAccessibility & language => Audio track => Language options

After the latest firmware update (12.5.0, build 4178-51), the sound is completely gone once the device gets to the main screen. There *is* sound with the startup logo and other devices connected to the TV, so it doesn't seem to be a hardware thing, but after the loading screen it cycles through the HDMI port and DVI port and loads the main screen in a fuzzy resolution, and there is no sound in any of the apps. Perhaps the latest update should have gone through more QA testing?3.9KViews0likes16CommentsYoutube app audio is skipping and choppy with Private Listening
I use the Roku remote appās private listening feature to connect my headphones to my roku tv through bluetooth. Recently, the Youtube app audio will not play correctly when I am listening through my headphones. It makes it sound chopped up and sporadic. Here is what Iāve already done to try to fix this: ⢠I turned off and on the private listening feature from my app ⢠I closed the roku app completely and reopened it ⢠I disconnected my headphonesā bluetooth to my phone ⢠I turned the power off on my headphones and then back on and reconnected ⢠I restarted my tv ⢠I checked to see if my tv needed a software update. It is up to date ⢠I tested the audio of different apps through my headphones. They all work perfectly. So far it is only the Youtube app that has this issue. ⢠I checked to see if the Youtube app needed updating. It is the current version. ⢠I uninstalled the Youtube app from my tv and reinstalled it. No change. ⢠I played the youtube app audio through my tv instead of my headphones through private listening and it sounds fine. At first I assumed this was an issue with my headphones but they play everything except the Youtube app perfectly normally.11KViews23likes84CommentsRoku Remote Unresponsive After Software Update

Hi everyone, I have a TCL 75R617 TV running Roku OS that is connected to my surround sound via optical cable (SPDIF). It's been set up this way since the TV was new, and everything has always sounded great. My receiver is older, so it lacks HDMI but it does understand Dolby Digital and DTS. The TCL hardware seems to be getting a little long in the tooth for the Roku OS, though, so I bought a Roku Ultra 4800R to "upgrade" the TV, and configured the TV to automatically switch to the Ultra when it powers on. I'm having trouble figuring out how to configure the audio so that full quality sound makes it to my receiver. I want audio to go from the Ultra to the TV via HDMI, and then go from the TV to the receiver over optical. It appears to work correctly, in that there's sound, but when watching a movie from the Ultra, the subwoofer is quieter than when watching a movie from the TV (using the TV's native streaming apps), and lacks "punch". I'm wondering if one of the devices is converting audio from one format to another and discarding some sound data. If anyone could help walk me through the audio settings on the Ultra and the TCL, I'd be very grateful. Thanks!718Views0likes0Comments
