Amazon Prime Video App issue: Content doesn't load
I've tried other apps for other stations, and they are in working order. However, while I can get into the Amazon Prime Video app, the content doesn't load. It just buffers and buffers and buffers some more. I'm at my wit's end here. Is this a Prime Issue (meaning--the fault is theirs), or is this a ROKU-specific problem? Impossible. First off: There is NO way to get in contact with the video team at Amazon Prime. It's a blackhole. I have had no trouble watching the Norwegian-language series, The Commoner, on my LAPTOP. But when I go to Amazon Prime using my ROKU Ultra, it WILL not run the series with Norwegian-language dialogue (English subtitles, of course). I've tried multiple times to change the language, and when I input "Norwegian," I keep getting Norwegian closed captioned titles and English-dubbed dialog. This makes no sense to me and I have no idea how to fix it. I've had consistent problems with Amazon Prime & the ROKU when it comes to content that is not in English, but this one takes the cake. That's way over my head. I have no idea what "airplay/sling" means. I don't even have a smart TV....Glad it worked for you though. I might try & see if I can stream it on my iPad though. You are paying twice. I actually get Showtime "free" from Verizon as part of my bundle, but I have no interest in Paramount content. I am fuming at being asked to pay for the privilege of streaming Showtime programming. I hope Paramount+ & Verizon come to some sort of agreement. I'll wait until January 8. There are only two apps on the ROKU currently for Paramount+--one a direct subscription with P+; the other a subscription via ROKU. To be completely honest, I'm baffled as to why one would subscribe via ROKU--the price is the same. Neither app offers you the option of signing in with your cable provider.
