The TV I watch the most is a ROKU brand. I get about 70 OTA channels from Wichita/Hutchinson Ks towers. Only the local ABC channels 21.1-21.4 are listed incorrectly as the local PBS channels. It is strange that the channels 21.5-21.7 are listed correctly. The TV scans recognizes the channels and are listed in the scrolling menus correctly. The guide is showing the wrong programming and shows up as the local PBS channels 8.1-8.4 I did contact the ROKU chat line and they said that it is probably a TV guide listing issue and the problem belongs to whoever supplies the guide. They could no tell me who supplies the guide or why they couldn't contact them and report my issue. They had no answers. Any suggestions would be appreciated . ROKU TV guide menu has wrong channels on some of the listings The TV guide for the over the air channels on my ROKU TV has the local CBS stations listed as PBS. It is odd because all the other channels are listed correctly. I get about 70 channels. The ROKU TV lists all of the the channels correctly, but the guide is wrong. The local CBS station broadcasts 7 sub channels and only the first four channels think they are PBS. I have rescanned, factory reset and unplugged and replugged the TV. Nothing works to fix it. Any suggestions would be appreciated Re: Roku remote won't change channels on the over the air screen I think I solved the issue with the over-the-air channel changing! I unplugged the USB drive from the back of the TV that is used to store the recorded pause and rewind info, and the TV started working as normal. Except I can't pause or record anything. I am not sure why, but I have gone through at least 3 USB drives that become unreadable after a while. Something in the TV, or OS, corrupts them beyond repair and they can no longer be formatted. I have not tried to plug a different USB back in, since the pause, and rewind feature is very limited anyway. Re: Roku remote won't change channels on the over the air screen "When in a real mess, re-start TV - and if that doesn't work, unplug and 'reboot.' If that doesn't work... throw up your hands and say "&#$%." Yep. I am pretty much at that point now. I factory reset the TV twice and included the steps of unplugging the internet, unplugging the TV, and holding the on/off button on the bottom of the screen to drain any residual power. None of them worked. I guess I will be in the market for a new TV. Re: Roku remote won't change channels on the over the air screen Thank you for your reply. It looks like other people are having the same issue. It may be a Roku OS issue. I tried the Roku Live TV section and it does have a lot of content, but as far as I could see none of the channels were the local over-the-air channels. When I backed out of that section, then Home, and then back to the over the air the TV guide actually showed up and worked.....once. And then, it went back to not working. It was the same thing that happened both times I factory reset the TV. It worked correctly once and then...nothing. For now, the only way I can change channels on my TV is to use the "Manage Channels" setting on the main TV screen by using the pop-up on the left side of the screen. All of the local channels will show up and I can hover over the one I want to view and it will go to it. As far as I know, Roku is not looking at the problem. I had the issue "escalated" at TCL to the software engineers, but have not heard anything from them. It may be time to upgrade my TV, but I really liked the TCL and the Roku OS. Re: Roku remote won't change channels on the over the air screen I have tried using my Android Roku app and it acts the same as the remote. So, I don't think it is the remote. I have factory reset the TV twice and it was odd, but after the second reset, the channel change worked for like 10 seconds and then stopped. I did reach out to TCL and they are escalating it to their software engineers. It may just be that my TV is FUBAR. TCL did want a video of the issue in acting and I sent them this link.... https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Kc4rPJ8jcz71vdWdYO8doOOLMVTOvF-u/view?usp=drive_web Re: Roku remote won't change channels on the over the air screen I rescanned the channels when I reset the TV to factory settings. They all show up, it is just that the remote will not navigate to any channels. The only way I can get a different channel to tune in is to press the asterisk on the Roku and when the sidebar menu pops up, I can scroll to favorites and pick a different channel. It will then go to that channel and I can back out of that menu. It is just really inconvenient. I guess if nobody else is having this issue, my TV is at fault. I sent the same question to TCL and they are looking at the issue. "Move to the top" feature I couldn't find this topic in the past posts, which surely can't be correct? Anyway, why doesn't Roku have a "Move to the top" choice when moving apps? Every time I do a factory reset on my Roku TV to try to fix an issue where I can't change channels on the OTA screens, or for any other reason, I have to move my favorite channels back to the top of the menu. They all get moved to the bottom of the app screen and I have to click forever to get them back to the top. You can't even shorten the journey and move them from the bottom of the menu and go past the top menu bar. The Firestick, for one, has this feature and it works great! Re: Roku remote won't change channels on the over the air screen I will post this question on the TCL forum also. Roku makes the OS. I thought maybe it was a bug introduced, like when they broke the signal strength meter for OTA channels when they introduced update 10.5 a while back. Yep. I reset the TV to factory settings, unplugged it, and restarted it. No change. Roku remote won't change channels on the over the air screen My Roku remote recently stopped being able to change TV channels on my TCL, Model 55S401, software version 11.0.0, build 4139-30. All other functions of the remote such as scrolling through the main menus, controlling all the apps, etc., work fine. The batteries in the remote are fine and I did a factory reset to the TV. It did not help My android phone app also works fine on everything else except the OTA TV navigation. I can get to a TV channel, but it stops navigating after that. The front power LED light flickers like it is getting the signal, but it just makes a blip noise and does nothing. Another odd thing is that I can press the asterisk button in the TV screen menu and go through the options on the pop-up side menu. If I do try the asterisk on the home screen OTA icon, it freezes up and I can only press the home screen button to get functionality back again. Any suggestions will be welcome. Solved
