This started happening a month or two ago. My Roku has always run fine, but now, it exhibits strange and very annoying behavior.
It all started a month or two ago, when I turned on my TV. Firstly, it was sort of laggy. It wasn't consistently laggy, but rather, it would exhibit spurts of lag, where it runs sort of fine, and then it freezes for 2 seconds, before coming back. And if I was performing actions while it was frozen, it would speedrun them once it came back. For example, if I were spamming the down arrow and going down a list, it would begin going down, experience a lag spike and freeze, then zoom down after the lag spike was over.
Not minding it at first, I tried to open up YouTube. Turns out I wasn't connected to the Internet, and so I went back to the home to connect. I tried to connect, and it couldn't. It was stuck on those two loading circles, and it eventually spit me out and told me it couldn't connect.
So, I went and restarted the system, thinking it was some corrupted session and that it would fix itself after I restarted. So, I did, and my TV was completely fine. There was no more of that weird lag, and I could connect to the Internet just fine.
I thought the problem was already over, but it kept happening over and over again. The next time I would turn on the TV, it would do the exact same thing, being laggy and not being able to connect. I had to restart the TV over and over again.
But this isn't where it ends. I just found out recently that even when I'm using the TV, it can just enter into that weird laggy, unresponsive state. Just starting 2 or so weeks ago, I've been minding my own business watching TV, when all of a sudden, it just disconnects from the Internet. I go to the home, and the TV has that weird lag again, and I can't connect. I have to restart the system again, and after doing so, it's completely fine for a temporary amount of time.
Does anyone know what the **bleep** is going on? It's driving me nuts. Why is my TV being so annoying?
