My Ethernet connection is in bedroom directly behind wall of living room where TV is. Will my Roku remote work via Ethernet with Ethernet router in  nearby room. In other words will remote go through wall to Roku ultra in other room.

Probably, but are you saying your remote is in a different room than your Ultra or in a different room than your router?  The remote makes a direct connection to the Ultra, so the router doesn't come into play.  You can also use the app on your phone as a remote from virtually anywhere as long as it's connected to the same network as your Ultra.

It should work; I'd be surprised if it didn't.  I have a similar situation with the bedroom on the opposite side of the wall from where my router and Ultra are except that they're also near the door to the bedroom.  With the door closed and as far away from the Ultra as I can get I can control it.  You may get reduced battery life on the remote.
