Roku cannot recognize the 5GHz router

After a 10 day power outage followed by 2 weeks of no internet service, I finally got the latter back. Now, neither of my Rokus will recognize the 5GHz but only the 2.4 GHz channel from the router. (Both connected to the 5 before the outage.) My phone and computer are connecting currently to the 5 with no problem. On the 2.4, I can get none of the apps on the Roku to work. I have tried every trick listed on this site: resetting the Roku, network connection reset, resetting the router, changing the channel on the 5GHz to below 50 or over 160. No matter what I do, the Roku cannot see the 5. I'm ready to throw the **bleep** things away and go with another product that works. Is there an actual solution to this problem?

@byrnesms

What are all your Roku model numbers having this issue?  Can find them under Settings/System/About on the device(s).

Also, router model number and ISP (internet service provider) may be helpful.

Re: Roku cannot recognize the 5GHz router

Rokus are 3910X and 3930X. Router is Linksys R 63.

Both had no problem connecting to the 5GHz channel before the outage, but now do not even see it. Only the 2.4 comes up when I scan, and it cannot handle streaming.

Re: Roku cannot recognize the 5GHz router

@byrnesms, the 3910 and 3930 are 2.4GHz-only models.  There's no way they ever connected to 5GHz.  I believe the first "Express" model to be 5GHz-capable was the 3940.
