Roku Philips TV can connect o my Wi-fi but no internet

Hi.

My Roku Philips TV 43" can't connect to internet. It can connect to Network but not Internet. My other devices have no issues, and the TV can connect on my phone's hotspot fine. I have tried restarting my router and Roku multiple times, as well as a network reset. The router is right next to my TV, as well.

Thanks.

Re: Roku Philips TV can connect o my Wi-fi but no internet Hi.

Hi,

If your Roku Philips TV connects to your phone's hotspot but not your main Wi-Fi network, it suggests that there could be a specific issue with the router's configuration or compatibility with the TV. Here are a few things you can try:

1. Check Router Settings:

2.4 GHz vs. 5 GHz Band: Ensure your TV is connected to the appropriate Wi-Fi band. Some older devices may have issues with the 5 GHz band and work better with 2.4 GHz.

Channel Width: Try changing the Wi-Fi channel or channel width in the router settings, as certain channels may not be compatible with the TV.

Security Settings: Ensure your Wi-Fi uses WPA2 (AES) security. Some devices can have trouble connecting if the router is set to WPA3 or mixed modes.

2. Update Router Firmware: Check if there is a firmware update available for your router and apply it, as updates can improve compatibility with various devices.

3. Change DNS Settings on TV: Go to the Roku TV's network settings and manually set the DNS to a public server like Google’s (8.8.8.8) or Cloudflare’s (1.1.1.1).

4. Disable VPNs or Firewalls: If you have any additional security measures on your router, such as a firewall or VPN, try disabling them temporarily to see if they are blocking the connection.

5. IP Configuration: Check if the TV is obtaining an IP address automatically (via DHCP). You could try setting a static IP address for your TV within the router's configuration.

6. Factory Reset the TV: If all else fails, consider performing a factory reset on the TV itself. Go to Settings > System > Advanced system settings > Factory reset and follow the instructions.

I hope these steps may solve the issue.
