Phone can turn on tv then not be connected

I have an RCA (Curtis) 55" Roku tv.

How can I turn it on with the WiFi app on my phone then the TV boots up and then it's connected with no internet and the phone won't connect to the tv anymore?

How can I turn it on with the app on my phone then immediately not be connected with the app on my phone?

What do you mean by "wifi app?" An app that controls your WiFi can also turn on your TV? Like a Netgear app or something similar? Tell us more about what you mean.

Better yet, restate clearly what is happening, and ask any questions about that.
