Hooking up to the network without a remote

I have a Roku stick but no remote to it I have the Roku app down loaded and I have a Westinghouse Roku remote can that remote be programmed to the Roku stick or can my app be programmed so I can make the stick on my wifi network

You can only use the Roku mobile app after the Streaming Stick has successfully connected to the network.

In order to connect to the network, you will generally need a physical Roku remote.  For the Streaming Stick you need a Roku Voice Remote (RF/wifi remote).

Your Westinghouse house remote is likely an IR remote so will not work with the Streaming Stick. (if you do not see a microphone button on your remote, then it is an IR remote).

You can purchase Roku Voice remotes at Walmart, Target, Best Buy, etc. if you need it immediately.  Otherwise, they are available via Roku. https://www.roku.com/products/accessories
