This is a huge need!
Agreed, this is essential to parents. I would argue a parental dashboard WebApp where all apps can be time limited and given an availability window could fit this use case well.
Do we have an update as to when/if this will come to fruition? I cannot express thoroughly enough how much of a need this is. The current parental controls only apply to live tv, which we don’t use. My kids are smart, stealthy, “eat the marshmallow in front of them” types who are developing a concerning comfortability in the associated risks and consequences of sleep deprivation at an alarming rate. I’m living with grumpy raccoons, and this feature would improve functioning and manage triggers.
Exactly what all these other parents are already echoing. Please make this a feature! My kids are sneaking down to watch TV at an ungodly hour while we’re asleep.
I’d love and appreciate the option to have the screen only showing the Roku screensaver appearing with an option to bypass with a pin. Then we can all get back to healthy sleep habits 🥴.
Roku
How is this coming along? @Manda_edwards the OG post is spot on we need this! We too have 6 tvs here and especially kids tvs need locks maybe even a picture of me pops up and says "go back to bed!!!" Or something anything!!! We need locks my sons a tv addict. I've locked the Wi-Fi but he then just plays on his ps4 or is it a 5 or figures out live tv. #tvlocks
I'm glad I'm not alone they are too smart for their own good.
We need to start a FB petition to get Roku to hear our pleas!!! Sign the petition get this implemented. I haven't yet so no link here but I will sign it if I someone really does it. Post the link below.
Yup I’m here to say the same thing. My daughter has started sneaking downstairs after I go to bed to watch tv. I’ve been hiding the remote but it won’t take her long to figure out where I’ve been putting it and getting to it. We have a small condo. I don’t understand how this isn’t just standard.
Yes! Please add this to your OS. Gaming platforms and mobile devices all have this, so it can't be that hard to create.
Other then the 1(we will look into this) response almost a year ago, why has Roku not responded? It's kind of ridiculous, that we haven't heard a update or anything on this major defect the Roku platform provides. I will be switching away from Roku products very soon. Unless Roku stops ignoring us parents
