Imagine the positive impact Roku could have replacing those useless, cheap branded plastic remote controls with an 100% open source remote app. No branded buttons instead options for customers to customise the buttons themselves. And being made open source people won't have to worry about any tracking or spying software.
I don't have a remote for my TV. I need to change volume on the device because my Roku remote does not have any volume buttons. But it has a apple TV button and one for Spotify both completely useless for me because I don't use the products. A lot of people would welcome a change like that .
