Remember Show Playback Position On App After Return From Home Screen.

Anytime I pause show and go check settings or something on Home Screen it resets the app and I ha e to log in, pick streaming user again, find show I was watching and start it again.

Please make PAUSE actually pause and not stop.  It would be nice if you put HBO MAX button back on remote control too.

What Roku do you have? Going to the home screen and back to an app should not log it out. Or it's an issue with that particular app.

As far as the remote, it's up to the services to PAY Roku for button placement. As far as I know, there is no remote code for HBO Max, based on code sets used for universal remotes. There is a code for the old HBO Now.
