Well **bleep** that answers why I can't find one. I had a web browser on every streaming stick I've used. Thought I'd switch to Roku. I bought two devices but no browser. Wonder if I'm still within the window to take them back?
I second. Need a web browser to go to a specific URL for specific content.
Good thing old Chromebooks, HDMI cables & support, and Ubuntu exist. Media Center for 7 months & counting, with great performance and a WEB BROWSER, ROKU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love the way roku works but it's #1 reason why i got away from it, No supported browsers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SEVERAL things, especially sports come to mind that you need a web browser for. For example, my sons high school football games, would love for my in laws to be able to watch him play on something bigger than a phone. I don't think anybody is asking because they want to "browse the web" on their TV (something by the way we were able to do all the way back in 2003!) Seems to me like all you're doing is making excuses for whatever reason. What a shame.
You can now. But you have to pay a monthly fee. So dumb.
useless feedback from offshore tech support with poor empathy training.
Roku no longer cares.
Cash cow going dog!
Can you explain how to do it?
With an iphone or ipad you can use the Roku screen mirror function. Simply go into the Roku settings to mirror your screen and enable this feature. Then select the mirror function on your iphone or ipad in the control panel (slide from upper right on your iphone or ipad) and then select your tv. Your tv and iphone or ipad need to be on the same network. The mirror function works really great since it also includes sound, works with all your apps, and the mirror function knows if you are playing a video and will play full screen on your tv.
Not sure if there is similar function for google phones.
I really like my roku devices, I have one on each of my tvs. Guess some of the folks complaining about the roku not doing what they want will need to find something else to b**** about.
Neither are fire sticks or smart tvs but both of them have apps available to do that. It’s such a pain to screen mirror from my phone when I should be able to have a simple browser app downloadable. If amazons $60 firestick can have one my $300 roku tv should be able to do the same at a bare minimum.
