Expanding the ECP slightly, it would be advantageous to encourage or even outright force apps in your eco-system to display contentID and any other relevant info in the option:
/query/media-player
Personally, I use Home Assistant to automate my home and with a bit of data, I could enable screen switches by utilizing the Deep Linking protocol to send the current info from one screen to another of my 4 Rokus. Making it a native feature would be even better. This feature already exists on some technology, but for it to be a platform advantage, Roku would win heavily over the competition. For such little effort, this seems like a big feature that makes sense to implement.
