Is it possible to add streaming service app YOUKU?
Roku is only responsible for The Roku Channel. All others are typically written by developers and/or streaming services and submitted to Roku for addition. You should contact YOUKU to see if they plan on making a Roku app.
I find it hard to believe Roku doesn’t have a sales dept to poach potential apps to their platform. Given YouKu’s streaming success and the fact that they have a new app that diversifies them from being YouTube only outside of Asia, it would be a good idea for Roku to pitch to them before they end up on a Samsung TV then it’s another less reason we would need Roku
I don't think Roku needs to reach out to companies. It is the top streaming platform, so most everyone knows about it. Services do not want to be exclusive to one platform, so "poaching" is not a thing. Not sure if Youku has an app for other devices, but some smaller services may decide that making a Roku app may not be worth it since it's a unique operating system. Most other devices run some variation of Android.
We can agree to disagree. My brother gifted a Roku when we didn’t even know what it was.4 households in my family were Roku homes. But as we purchased new Samsung TVs, we stopped using. We mostly travel with one opposed to each have 3-5 for the home. Having apps available on your platform that you can get no where else is a draw. Like IQIYI. Their app on Roku is not good. Their app on Samsung? Excellent.
You can't blame Roku for the IQIYI issues. That is up to IQIYI to fix.
