Unable to Stream on Roku Channel

Just purchased a Roku Express for the first time. Internet connection is very strong. I can stream just fine from the Prime app. Cannot stream anything on the Roku Channel. After clicking on WWE Next Gen or Spiderwick takes me into play episode, click play and the show photo comes up on the right hand side of the screen but it just hangs there on that and nothing plays. Everything I've searched for says it works in Canada, and our recent hotel stay in Calgary had a Roku TV and it worked flawlessly. Not sure why it won't work here at home.

Any advice? Thanks

Re: Unable to Stream on Roku Channel

Often when there's a problem viewing The Roku Channel in Canada it's because the Roku account is erroneously associated with a US account.  Unfortunately I don't know a definitive way to determine what region a Roku account is associated with, but if you created the account somewhere other than Canada and them moved there, that would do it.  However, it's all too easy to create an account in the wrong region even when you're located in the right region.

If you search for "Crave" using the Search feature or under "Streaming Store", does the app show up?  That's an app that I believe is available in Canada, but not the US.  If it doesn't show up, your account is likely not associated with Canada and that will just mess things up.  If that's the case, the only way to fix it is to factory reset your device and start over.

Good suggestion.  Don't think I'd have thought of that.
