Tubi stops playing and returns to the "resume" screen

I am trying to watch Tubi with my Roku ultra but it the videos keep stopping and going back to the screen that says "resume" and "play from beginning." It's as if someone pressed the back button while it's playing. I thought it might be something with the phone app so I uninstalled it but it didn't fix the problem. This has just started happening within the past week. I have restarted the Roku several times and it doesn't help. I can't find anything on this exact issue. Anyone got any suggestions?

Re: Tubi stops playing and returns to the "resume" screen

@lmnight-

I'm seeing lots of channel updates lately, likely related to the rollout of Roku operating system 12.5.   If the Tubi app did not install properly that could explain your problem.

After removing a channel, best practice is to restart** your Roku to clear its memory cache BEFORE reinstalling the channel.   Did you do this?  Without the restart you may not get a clean reinstall.

Depending on your Roku model number you'll find the "System restart" option under either "Settings > System > Power" or under "Settings > System".   If you don't have sufficient control to use the menus, or if it is just more convenient, you can also restart by pulling the power plug for a short while, then plugging it back in.

**On a Roku TV with "Fast TV Start" enabled, turning the TV off/on only puts you in/out of a low power standby state, it does NOT give you a complete restart.  Use the methods above.
