I am having the same issue and have contacted Tablo support twice, only to be informed that it is being "worked on". The second time the tech told me to go to the Roku settings and change Audio from Auto to custom and them to select Dolby. This did allow me to play show in my library and view live TV, but the audio did not work(no sound). This issue has been ongoing for over a month that I am aware of, I find it incredible that two teams of engineers could not find a solution in that amount of time. I guess it's a good thing they don't work for NASA!
Why can't Roku revert back to previous software version until you figure out the issue? The resolution time from you and Tablo is unacceptable and says alot about the priority it is given. I can certainly see why everyone on this thread is "Trashing Roku" and replacing with a Fire Stick, I see I am going to have to follow suit!
I changed preferred streaming format to to DTS and digital output format to custom/dolby then everything worked. I had read that on the Tablo community board.
Hello ! Yes Roku also told me tu change from auto tu custom on audio , bt sadly there’s no audio .i ve since then purchased Two Firestick which ve given me Tablo wth sound wth the Roku boxes still connected.i would get rid of the Roku sometime dwn the road.Maybe u shld consider the same cuz Roku isn’t going tu fix the problem.
Ok changed the “ preferred streaming format” to Dolby.
changed the “digital output, format” to Custom.
Tablo is now working properly at the moment.
Not solved. I have 2 Roku Express 4K+, sku 3941 R2
I also bought a Firestick 4K Max for my primary TV. I got it for $20 off the original price. It's not smooth with regard to Tablo.. I have had to uninstall and reinstall the Tablo 4th generation a lot to get Tablo to work. I also don't have my Spectrum TV app. I tried all the stupid ApK workarounds for that but they don't work. Best way to get my Spectrum on Firestick is to Cast it from my phone to the Firestick. I'm disappointed that Roku will not support the Tablo on the Roku Express. It's about money. The conser has to pay more for the Stick. Also, the software between the two may be different. Btw the Tablo site now reads that the roku express is not supported. Don't hold your breath that roku will fix the issue.
The solution I have found to solve the Tablo (4th gen) play and playback issues is to use a Roku Ultra (4802X). It has fixed both older TVs that had an Express, and a Roku TV itself. Specifically, both Ultras I bought were described as 2022 models. Because I didn't want to put any more money into Roku's pocket, I bought both reconditioned from Amazon.
Please Post if anyone finds that a) a 2022 Ultra does not work for them
b) whether anything other than a 2022 Ultra works also.
Since going this route, I've had no problems with 4th gen Tablo. I can't comment on Legacy.
There's something more going on than simply the Roku model. I have a 4802, a 3920, a 4630, and a 4640 that all work with a Tablo 4th gen and Roku v14.0.4. The 4630 and 4640 are 8 years old and the 3920 is 6 years old. I think you'll find people with the same models that don't work.
Cannot watch Tablo TV using my Roku.
