Streaming stick not progressing past bouncing Roku logo

My Roku stick suddenly stopped playing and when reset it will get to the bouncing Roku logo, but then the tv goes black and no signal is displayed. I’ve reset with power cycle and the button on the stick, but it never gets past the same screen. Anyone have any workarounds or suggestions?

    If a simple restart may not help, then we'll recommend performing a factory reset on the Roku device and see if that helps.

    How are you powering it?  Is it plugged into the TV's USB port or a USB power adapter plugged into the wall?
