ROKU ULTRA model: 4660X
Roku software version: 14.1
For many months now the slowness in loading apps can be extremely slow, meaning minutes to load an app.
This could be related to ROKU hardware, CPU, Memory, network latency and the app software itself. Are the apps just so poorly written from an memory usage and efficiency standpoint that the hardware can't handle them efficiently? That is not Roku's fault but if their older hardware can't keep up with poor and inefficient development skills of the resources writing the code then I'd like to know that so I can purchase more robust ROKU devices.
ROUKU's first touch support resources are just not technically adept but you never get routed to an adequate technical resource. They are just following a script and you just have to go through, at their insistence, their documented troubleshooting steps even though you've performed them multiple times already and have explained that to them.
I work in IT so I know the drill with third party support processes and, IMHO, they are not worth the money the company pays for them and they will ultimately lose customers as a result. I couldn't get an answer from them regarding the type of CPU and amount of memory my Ultra, model 4660X and software 14.1, uses as compared to the newer models. I'm OK with having to purchase new hardware if it solves my problem.
I am just one very frustrated customer with regard to how my hardware and software perform and the lack of proper support from ROKU.

This is very helpful, Makaiguy. Looks like it's possibly time for an upgrade!
