Having same/similar issue. While watching live stream apps (NBC, SYFY, Oxygen, etc) close back to Roku home screen at end of each show. Have to reopen app to continue watching shows. The only time this does not happen is if I change the live stream station within the app several minutes before the show/movie is scheduled to end, and put on a other show that isn't ending at the time. When I do re-open the app and go back to the live stream the next scheduled show is a few minutes in. It's almost like the show concluding overlaps/doesn't end in allotted time and maybe this is why it closes the apps? I've logged out, uninstalled, all the suggestions.... nothing had helped. This just started past few weeks and very frustrating.
All those, NBC, syfy, oxygen, are all NBC products.
It is powered through my tv. I am unable to plug it in a wall outlet since the cord provided to me with my Roku is too short. This issue occurs now constantly and it doesn’t happen with just a particular channel. I have tried using other channels on my Roku and still experience the issue of it resetting constantly. This issue happens when watching live tv too. It is very frustrating. My Roku worked just perfectly when I bought it in April and I only started experiencing this issue around the beginning of June.
I have a similar problem with only paramount plus. all other app open. Paramount plus cycles however returns to the home screen.

I have tried all the other suggestions in restarting, updating, rebooting, removing and reinstalling the app and I am still unable to open the App.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I am experiencing the same problem, with numerous streaming channels.
I have performed every suggested step but the problem of Return to Home Screen persists.
Many users are posting regarding Return to Home Screen problems but no solution seems to solve the problem.
Has Roku been infected with malicious software?
It is frustrating that no Roku technical team members can be contacted directly, but users must post to the Roku Community board and hope for a solution to appear from other users with similar problems.

It happens extensively when using the MLB.TV app. I haven't watched other channels very much since the problem started so I don't know how widespread it is. It doesn't matter if I'm watching on delay, which I guess would be VOD or if I'm watching live. On a bad night it will crash every half inning.
I'm plugged into the wall instead of the TV. I've not experienced this problem on other channels or in past years. I've rest my box numerous times and have checked that everything is up to date along with deleting and re-installing the app. It's probably been happening for a few months at this point.
