Roku express 4k overheating/low power

I bought the device a couple of days ago. It is dangling freely in air, far from other electronics and not in an enclosed space. It is also connected directly to the wall power socket using roku supplied USB cable and adaptor. Every couple of hours it shows a message on the screen of low power AND simultaneously turning the indicator light constant red (overheating). Disconnecting from power solves the problem for a couple of hours but then it returns. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Thanks,

Slavek

Re: Roku express 4k overheating/low power

@Slav

If you are using the "Roku supplied power adapter" and getting this message, I would try another power adapter. (any 5volt, 1amp cell phone charging adapter should work).

If the issue persists, then likely a faulty Roku device.

If under a year, should qualify for warranty replacement. https://support.roku.com/article/208757058

Edited to add ... Just caught the device is a couple of days old.  Just return it for a refund (30 days for cash refund) if the culprit is not the power adapter.
