Glitchy interruption when watching multiple streaming services

Jump to solution

Nearly every time we watch something lately the screen glitches. It has probably been happening for a year but has accelerated to every time in the past week or two. Generally we can just rewind a touch and it's fine. Tonight it has frozen and won't continue at all. We have unplugged it and waited many times and it continues to return to the glitch spot with no response to any buttons pressed. We are currently watching Disney but it has happened on Netflix and possibly other services as well.

We have a Roku box plugged in to a Bose receiver connected to a projector. It is hard wired to the Internet. We have a second Roku box in another TV. When we swap the boxes the problem continues with the newly attached box. It came in glitchy and stuck in the same spot.

Any help is appreciated in solving this issue. Thanks!

Hi, @Lanara.

Greetings from the Roku Community!

We understand that you're encountering an unintended behavior while streaming on channels with your Roku through your Bose receiver and Projector.

Please be advised that Roku devices are best used when connected directly to a TV. If you have problems connecting the Roku to these devices, try isolating the issue by connecting your Roku devices directly to a TV. You can try doing it to see if the issue persists; the problem is with the Roku device. If you observed that the problem was fixed after connecting the device to a TV, there must be an issue with either the cables or the HDMI port of the receiver that caused the glitch in the streaming experience.

Let us know how this works.

All the best,
Emman
