When trying to setup an Indoor Camera on an iPhone -- Only the 5G Network shows up in the Network list!
How do I get the Iphone to show the 2.4G Network in the Network List!
(And Yes, I do have both a 5G and a 2.4G Network!)
PS I am switching from WYSE to Roku Home App!
The Wyse App will find the 2.4G Network Automatically but The Roku Home App only finds the 5G Network! (And no others appear in the list!)
Thanks for the post.
Can you please provide more details about your wireless network?
-what is the make and model of your router
-what are your security settings set to (WPA/WPA2). in addition, are your security settings mixed
-are your wireless network frequency separate or can you switch between 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz
With more detailed information, we will be able to assist you further.
Thanks,
Danny
ROUTER: NETGEAR NIGHTHAWK X6 Tri-Band Wi-Fi Router Model # R8000
It can automatically switch between 2.4 and 5 depending on how crowded each channel is!
I never changed any security settings except the password, because a neighbor likes to spy in everybody's network!
Thanks for the post.
These devices will only use 2.4Ghz networks, but just to rule out a misidentified SSID, can you try connecting to the network you're seeing and let us know if it works?
Can you please provide us a screenshot of the drop down menu for wireless networks that you see when accessing the Roku Smart Home app?
In the meantime, I've passed along your concerns to the appropriate Roku team.
Thanks,
Danny
Picture 1 is before I click on the down button!
Picture 2 is after I click on the down button!
As you can see from picture 2; no other networks appear in the list!
(Even though my Wyse cams are still hooked up and feeding into the (2) 2.4G wi-fi Networks and are operating correctly!)
It seems to me that The Roku Smart Home App is NOT programmed to put all the networks in the list! But in reality, it should automatically find the 2.4 G Network!
PS: It is NOT the iPhone's fault as I can watch the Wyse Cams on it!
