upon attempting to load the 4k+ roku stick everything appears in spanish.

I'm not sure what the Fire TV has to do with anything, but you can change the language in the Settings. It should be something like:

Settings or Configuración->Sistema->Idioma->English

Or, you can always factory reset it and start over:
