frozen streaming stick 4 and i have tried everything

I have replaced batteries in remote, I have paired it and unplugged everything and back again but comes back to the home screen and I can't go anywhere else.  What can I do or do I need a new Roku stick

We don't have enough information to determine if you need a new stick, a new remote, or a new Wi-Fi receiver.  The model number of your stick would help, but If it came with a USB cable with a "bump" in it, that's the Wi-Fi receiver.  The remote won't work if it's not there or is faulty.
