I suspect this is a typo and the actual error message says HDCP unauthorized. Some things to try:
- Switch TV to different input and back
- Power down TV and Roku then power back up
HCDP (High-definition Copy Data Protection) is something added to the HDMI specs by the movie/tv industry to prevent making exact digital copies of content. Both ends of the HDMI connection, any intermediate devices you run the signal through, and the cables used to connect them must all support the HDCP protocols or the video won't be transmitted.
HDCP compliance is part of the information exchanged in a "handshake" when the components are started up or reconnected.
Many computer monitors will not support HDCP, although this is getting more common in newer monitors.
You may be able to run your HDMI video through an HDMI adaptor or splitter that provides HDCP support.
If this same setup has worked previously then something has failed -- the HDMI port on either end of the handshake, or maybe the HDMI cable itself.
