Hi, A week ago I purchased a Roku Express (model 3960X). When I first connected it went through the initial setup and then performed an update. Since then I have been unable to connect to the device as every few seconds it powers off and back on. I have tried the reset button to start over but still it keeps restarting itself. I have tried different USB power supplies but that makes no difference.
Any one got any advice before I return it to the store as faulty?
Thanks
A frustrated first time (and possibly last time) user of Roku products
Just a couple of things to verify.
When you press the Reset button, make sure you are pressing and holding for 30+ seconds in order to Factory Reset the device. A short press of the Reset button just reboots the device.
As for the USB power supply, make sure the USB power adapter (if using at the wall outlet) is rated at 5volts, 1amp. (at least 1 amp).
Normally the restarting loop is caused by an improper power supply, which is usually resolved with use of a power adapter at the wall rather than trying to use the TV USB port. (some tv USB ports may not provide enough power to run Roku).
However, if this does not resolve issue, then I would simply return/exchange it for new device.

Thanks for the prompt response, problem solved. It was a bad USB cable (the one supplied with the device). I'd already tried changing everything else!
Again many thanks.
