New Roku Stick not responding

I am setting up Roku Streaming Stick 4K. Get to the part to enter internet password. I get no response from Roku remote. Installed new batteries but no change. Any info appreciated

Out the box the remote doesn't come paired to the Roku, it has to be paired via pairing button in the battery compartment. And you have to use the supplied usb cable with the bump in the middle, that bump is what the remote and internet communicate with, not the Stick itself.

If you've gotten to the page where you enter your network password, use the arrow keys to move the cursor to highlight the password entry field and press the OK button.  This should activate the on screen virtual keyboard.
