Thanks and that does have at least some logic to it. Many sites will give you the option to 'trust' a given device to avoid this, but I guess spammers will always find ways to circumvent the system.

Hopefully I won't need to be hanging around here all that often now that I seem to have the fix I need.

This worked perfectly for me so far.

  1. Secret Menu Option (Note: This is not officially supported and may change):

    • Press the Home button on your Roku remote five times.
    • Immediately press Down, then Left.
    • Press Up three times.
    • The HDMI secret menu should appear
    • It will then display the resolution settings your Roku can use. Then just click the "Disable Automatic Recovery"
    • I found this answer on the Copalite app
