Is the home screen mine or yours?
Who has permission to change it?
Do you have permission to change my home screen?
If so please tell me what legal right you have to change my home screen?
If not, than please remove the "On Now" feature with in the next 30 days.
Thank you
Whose name shows in the upper right corner of the home screen, yours or theirs? Who is going to make any code changes to alter its apprearance, you or Roku? I think you've got your answer.
HOWEVER - One of the things that has made Roku successful is a simple, easy to use, home screen. I have no problem with them adding new stuff to it, but any additions should be added as OPTIONS that can be selected by the user, preferably with the default setting being OFF.
I understand not making the default OFF, as a large percentage of users would never know the option was even there. Look how many don't know to go to Settings/System/About to find their model name and number. But to not provide an option to turn home screen additions off is inexcusable, IMHO.
@dognduck You own the TV but Roku owns the home screen and operating system that you are can choose to use or not use

Thanks to everyone for their replies.
@makaiguyya, I guess like so many other great products that become great because of the features that other companies take away. Roku is now starting with a "On Now" header on home screen "foot in the door" to push more and more revenue at the cost of features, freedom of options, etc..
It was great while it lasted, 🙂
I hope they really make a change in the right direction hate to see them go down like Unity loosing big time for trying to squeeze their developer for more fee's.
