Hello! I was wondering if the ViewSonic VX2716A 27 Inch 1080p 1ms 120Hz IPS Gaming Monitor will utilize the full potential of the Roku Ultra output of 1080p @ 120Hz video playback? Also does the Roku Ultra output 1080p 120Hz to any TV that supports it in general or is it cap @ 1080p 60Hz?
All Roku players will not exceed 60Hz refresh rate. So a monitor with a higher refresh rate will not make the Roku perform any differently. Depending on the algorithms of the display, the video might look a bit better, but that would simply be the circuitry within the display tweaking the image, and it's not actually allowing the Roku to display anything different/better.
Does this mean a Roku stick will work in a gaming monitor (with an HDMI port and audio)?

Yes, it should work fine since you have audio built into the monitor.
Ok it sounds like it is worth a try, thank you!
