I just bought a TCL Q7 google OS TV. The television runs the google OS not Roku. I installed the RokuTV app as all my other TVs are Roku based and I love the channels. The issue I’m having is that I cannot figure out any way to disable closed captions on some of the liveTV channels. My TV remote does NOT have a “*” button and there is no equivalent to it found anywhere in the forums. Hitting up or down on the remote doesn’t get you into channel options either. If I go into settings for the Roku app itself. There is no option to turn off closed captions only the option to change the style of the closed caption print. I’ve looked all over the internet and can’t seem to find a solution. I’ve even turned off close captioning completely in the TV settings for the television itself uninstalled the Roku app and reinstalled it thinking it may reset things, but I still get closed captions on random LiveTV channels.
