There currently is not a way to make a widget for the Roku mobile app at this time.

I'm refering to that Smartphone widget you can put on your home screen where you can control the TV with your phone without needing to open up the app
I get you have to have the app open in the background for the widget to work, but it seems if I set my phone down for 5 minutes, or are in another app for a while the widget stops working and will force open the app, even though the app is already open in the background.
