So I recently inherited an older Roku model (2000c) which had previously been working fine. When trying to setup, I keep getting error code 0001, regardless of using wireless or wired connection. I tried multiple Ethernet cables, multiple Wi-Fi networks (5g and 2g), and even tried personal hotspot on phone. I also tried hard reset w paper clip on device. Still getting error. Serial number is HOAOA4033769. Please don’t tell me to get a newer device, as I have other, newer Roku models already and want to set this up in another room. Thanks
Unfortunately, I think you are running into a issue with its setup because the 2000C is no longer supported and cannot receive updates. Falls into the discontinued Legacy model category which cannot run newer Roku OS.
According to docs, last software update for that model may have been OS 3.1.

Now that it has been factory reset, it certainly won't be able to load the initial Roku OS from the server. If it had been still operating fine, it had a good run since it is reportedly a 2010 device.

Thanks for the post.
As @AvsGunnar mentioned, your Roku model is a much older device that is no longer supported. However, we would be happy to see what we can do to help get you back up and running.
Please provide us with the serial number of your Roku device (printed on the side/back of the device) and I'll have our support team reach out directly to assist you further.
Thanks,
Danny
