With firmware 5.3 my channels do not show subtitles anymore

Something changed on firmware 5.3 that made my channels not show subtitles anymore, why not these changes can't be backward compatible?

Anyone can help me with the changes needed?

I just noticed the new Captions option on the new firmware Settings menu, the issue is that the new firmware turns off the captions by default, that will cause a lot of confusion on users.
