As i remember you can use TrueType or OpenType fonts, it says in the docs somewhere. The problem is that they are huge relative to the channel size you want so you need to download them on channel load.
If you have font editing software you can delete the font sets you don't need, to make the filesize smaller. Most fonts today include entire separate sets of character data for italics, bold, etc etc.
