Videos on my channel seem to fail half-way through "retrieving" them.

Jump to solution

Hi! I've been having a bit of trouble getting my videos to play properly on my channel. It had worked just a week before, however out of nowhere, the videos started failing and wouldn't play. They appear to be retrieving to about half-way before just cutting back to the main screen. Below is my JSON file I'm using. As it's my first code, I'm unsure if it's something I messed up in the code, or if this is an issue I can resolve on Roku. Any help is greatly appreciated.

hi @SOI

you dont use the proper video url

you need direct link to the mp4 file

this https://player.vimeo.com/video/529095764 is only a page with an embed video.

try to fix that , it should work

This was the fix. Thank you so much! I couldn't find anywhere that it needed to be the direct .mp4 link, but getting that solved my problem.

For anyone that is reading this that has the same problem and is using Vimeo, look in your advanced settings of your video and find the direct video file links under distribution.
