Hello, we are testing a live DASH stream and want to synchronize player’s starting point to available segments’ start. To achieve this, suggestedPresentationDelay of the DASH manifest is configured to align with available segments’ start. The attached DASH manifest diagram illustrates the case.
With this suggestedPresentationDelay setting, “Video PlayBack Error: malformed data StreamURL” is encountered in Roku Stream Tester. We tested with other DASH players (Shaka player 4 / DASH-IF player) using the same stream and the playback can be started smoothly.
We also did some more experiments and found that this live stream can only be playable in Roku stream tester with a smaller suggestedPresentationDelay (e.g. 4 sec). However, this cannot meet our needs.
Regarding this suggestedPresentationDelay setting, we would like to check whether
- it is expected behavior in Roku Stream Tester?
- any Roku configurations that can avoid this problem and achieve smooth playback?
Thanks in advance.

*BUMP*, this has not received a response in 8 months.
Can someone from the Roku team please look into this issue ?
Same setup is re-tested on 3820CA - Streaming Stick 4K (software version 12.5.0, build 4178-CU) and issue is no longer observed.
