Streaming radio & TV stations help

This is my first try at developing a channel, so I thought I'd try streaming my favorite local TV & Radio stations. I quickly ran into the same problem that I found in other posts - the "Listen Live" type link doesn't work when I paste it into the Audioapp sample. I also looked at the videoplayer and Khan Academy samples.

My questions are:

1. The radio station posts I found are typically a year or two old. Has anything been done recently to make it easier to either stream stations like this or made it easier to find the IPs of these streams to paste into a copy of the Audioapp sample? I tried the Show IP add-on for Firefox with no success. The url of the radio station I was going to stream is: http://98kupd.com/

2. I would like to stream the video clips from a station like http://www.abc15.com/subindex/video. How would I communicate with the site to find out what clips are available? Web services as in the Khan Academy example? If so, how would I find out the stations' page that is similar to the Khan page containing the JSON string?

Does anyone have some sample code they could share for either question? Thanks in advance.

Re: Streaming radio & TV stations help

A local TV station is unlikely to have a full blown API like Khan does, but sometimes they will publish a podcast or MRSS feed with compatible content in it.
