I want to experiment with HLS but I need a source of streaming live video. Is there some way I can set up a camera and say QuickTime Broadcaster or something to try creating a live streaming test channel? Also would be nice to have some real-world examples of live streams to test with.

I think that the roVideoPlayer example uses a NASA live stream. I'm not entirely sure at the moment though. I also think that CERN has/had a live web stream/cam -- just not sure about the format.

There are a couple ways to get live streaming video. Platforms like Ustream.TV, Livestream.com are a couple that you can get live streams from. I use them bothe on my site...
