Remove Icon Borders

Hey gang, new here and having a blast. Great contributions here, thanks for all the knowledge.

I'm trying to figure out where the setting is to exclude those built in roku png overlays. I'm talking about the default borders that are added to the all of the iconography including posters, etc. It's the black graphic border around the selected icon and the white border around all the non selected icons.

The look i'm going for is like the default 'channel selection' on the Roku 2 devices. Unlike the Roku 1, they ditched the borders on that screen and I'd like to do that on all of my screens.

Any help is much appreciated.

Re: Remove Icon Borders

Unless it's been added to the 4.x SDK (which hasn't been released), it's not possible.

Re: Remove Icon Borders

It is possible with roScreen on Roku2 and beta OS3.0 to create your own very nice UI that looks the way you want it to.

Re: Remove Icon Borders

Thanks guys...I’ve received several PM’s that suggest this can be done with a Roku2 and the BrightScript 3.0 SDK, but it sounds as if the UI would need to be built from scratch in order to do it, as opposed to simply disabling the borders. Can anyone verify is this correct?
