I and some other users have noticed that there are some video podcasts that exhibit regular audio dropouts and "chipmunk" voices when played on the Roku, but not when played on other devices/players. For instance, all of the G4 podcasts exhibit this behavior.

I have noticed this also recently in video podcasts from the NY Times: Pouge and "The Minimalist." Both in a home-grown app that I am working on and on the iTunes Podcast Channel. Both stutter and the audio is higher in pitch than it should be.

We've taken a look at these links, and have fixed the issue in an internal build. We'll include the fix in an upcoming release.

As far as I can tell, that video is also playing correctly with this fix.
