I am unable to enter developer mode after following the steps to do so, According to some users on Reddit I've been blocked from it for some reason, supposedly this can happen if you violate the terms of service, however, I have never entered developer mode on any of my Roku devices before so there is no reason I should be blocked from it, does anyone have any solutions, One person on Reddit suggested I try to contact ruko but to my knowledge, there is not a customer support I can reach out too. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it.
Is this a second-hand device? Can you enter developer mode on any other device? As far as I know, the block is tied to the device, but I doubt Roku is going to give out that kind of information.
no, it was brand new from Amazon, and I've never been in developer mode on any Roku device
Have you tried it on any other device? What happens when you try to enable it? From what I've seen here, if you're blocked, the procedure will appear to enable developer mode and then reboot. Once it reboots, developer mode is no longer enabled. Is that what you're seeing or something else?
One more thing - I believe you need a physical remote, so if you're trying to use the app as a remote, the procedure may not work.
what i found in all this "challenging" is to push the buttons fast , i struggled for 30 minutes without success , and then my "gamer" son took over the "pushing buttons" part and ... voila .. first try it worked .... so now when i need to enable dev mode on a device ... i just ask my son to do it 🙂
