OK new to software development for Roku, got an ESPN3 ques.
Does anyone have a private ESPN3 channel in development? I would like to start to try, I see this gentlemen got one working for Boxee.

I realize the environments aren't the same but this gives me hope it is possible. Just curious if anyone has tried and found out it isn't possible or if it is close?

I'm not familiar with the site, but looking at the info on the site, it looks like it's all in Flash. Roku can't handle that.

According to this story for the XBox 360 platform they are using HTML5, again I am newbie here so that still might not be possible:

Why don't you ask him:
1. What video streaming format is he using, is it H.264?
2. what is the URL he is requesting it from
any other details that the programmer might be willing to volunteer would be helpful.

If it is html5, it still needs to have a compatible video format and container.
I was basing the Flash on the "system requirements" page.

Most of the content will be delivered in MP4 or FLV through a 3-party vendor (MLB Media) after being finger-printed for certain information you will get the Smile info file to get to the event. But as stated, Roku box does not support the RTMP connection.

I'm sure you already know this, but felt I'd pass this along.
1. The private channel utilizing Playon has access to ESPN3 already. But it requires the Playon server.
2. This is the whopper... you could create the best ESPN3 channel in the world, but unless my ISP supports ESPN3, I can't use your channel. ESPN3 is entirely based on whether your ISP has a working agreement with ESPN3 to carry it.

It has already been confirmed that ESPN3 video format is not supported on roku.
