Memory and file space
I've asked this before and didn't get an answer. But here goes:
Q1. How much memory is available to an app ?
Q2. Also how much space on the tmp drive ?
I'm trying to allow the user to define his own font for internationalization. While testing I loaded a really large font, 22 Meg. Everything appeared fine while browsing the devices and folders but then I decided to take a break and actually watch a movie. After about a half an hour, the Roku crashed ! Reload the app and resumed the movie. Again after about half an hour, the Roku crashed again ! This implies that Roku is using up disc space while playing videos. I loaded up a smaller font and was able to watch the movie from start to finish.
Really need more details on Roku's memory and file space usage !
Q3. After you register a font from tmp: Can you delete the file space ?

Re: Memory and file space
Answered my own question.
Q3. No, it has to remain in your package or the file system !

Re: Memory and file space
Q2 - depends on the model Roku device. I've managed to download a 200MB video for playback on a Roku2 XS. The filesystem specifies sizes in 'blocks' - not KB, so that won't be useful here.
